Kirsti Aksnes er høgskulelektor i drama ved Avdeling for lærerutdanning og kulturfag.
Education and training
Kirsti Aksnes (b.1983) started her studies to be a drama teacher in Bergen University College in 2004. She has also studied Theatrehistory, English and Norwegian at the University of Bergen. In 2008 she completed PPU, a practical pedagogical course in Oslo University College. Aksnes finished her masters in drama pedagogy at Bergen University College in June 2013. The subject for the master project was Process Drama with mentally disabled people. During her education Aksnes has been an exchange student twice; first in 2005 she studied theatre studies at University of Alberta, Canada. As part of the master degree in 2012 she attended one semester at Universität der Kunste, Berlin.
Aksnes has a varied background in the theatre and cultural field. Her workexperience includes working in elementary schools, working as a dramateacher in highschool as well as working with younger children in Bergen Kulturskole (Bergen Artschool.) She has also worked at BiT Teatergarasjen (Bergen International Theatregarage) as an art coordinator. Aksnes has held several workshops for both schools and kindergardens. She has also held lectures in the University of Stavanger and Bergen University College. Aksnes continues to work with theatre and mentally disabled people, as well as projects with children in elementary schools. She is also a member of the performance groups Teateretaten and Stockholm Underground in Bergen, where she participates as an actress and as director. Aksnes is also active as the leader of Hordaland Drama association. She has since August 2013 worked as a lecturer in drama at Stord/Haugesund University College at the Faculty of Learning and Culture.
